Activities for Early Career Scientists at EPSC2018
The Early Career Forum at EPSC2017 was the groundbreaking ceremony and thus the official hour of birth of the Europlanet Early Career Network (EPEC).
At this year's EPSC week the EPEC network offers several events and short courses for young scientists:
- a get-together with the aim of connecting early career researchers across different fields in planetary sciences (Science Cross Talks, SMW1.9, Monday, 12:45–13:45, Room Mars)
- a short course about different funding bodies, application for grants and early career stage positions (It’s all about the money, SMW1.10, Tuesday, 12:45–13:45, Room Mars)
- a short course, which will give a broad overview of operating, current and future space missions, lead by ESA, NASA and other international partners (Space is our mission, SMW1.11, Wednesday, 12:45–13:45, Room Mars)
- the Science Flash, a fun competition that took place at EPSC already in the past years. Join the science competition (SMW1.1) on Wednesday, 16:15–17:45, Room Mercury. Registration is open. For more details, please download the Science Flash flyer.
- a social event on Thursday evening.
Please also take notice of other events of interest for young scientists, like the opening ceremony, the Outstanding Student Poster Award (OSPA), the Europlanet General Assembly on Thursday and the diversity and inclusiveness lunch on Friday. You can download the complete EPEC Flyer with a summary of all events and more information. We look forward to meeting you at the EPSC Icebreaker event on Sunday evening in the EPEC corner, where you can get more information about EPEC and the EPSC events, join the network and get prepared for a great conference.
